| Do you ever have one of those days that you feel like your mind is against you... that every single thing that happens or exists can't help but be negative. Perhaps I think too much into things....make things into what they are not. I feel like life is a competition. I'm sick of competing. | | |
| I saw "Walk the Line", the new Johnny Cash movie. Awesome. I've been hooked to his music (not that I wasn't before), but now more than before. It reminds me of my Grandpa. He loved Johnny Cash. | | |
| So Halloween kinda sucked. my costume was complete but the weather was so cold and rainy and we didnt have plans because the orginal plan was that displacement theory was going to have a show. that didn't happen so we went to IBC for like an hour and that was about it.
Nothing much has been happening. I collected a whole bagful of slides from my grandparents on my mom's side so i can scan them all. Lets just say that most of my christmas presents have been taken care of. Yes! I love presents i can make! Anyways I thought the whole family would enjoy seeing these pictures. No one has seen them for years if even at all.
So Chris and I rented this gamecube game called Gun. It is awesome! It's like a western. You do some pratice hunting on geese, wolves, bison, bears, etc. then you kill theives and indians or hoodlums trying to burn down the saloon while protecting the prositutes. Full of all sorts of storylines. I'd almost buy it if it wasn't like 60 bucks.
So the past 2 Saturdays I went to Chicago. Two Sats ago I went with Chris and his mom to Belmont where there a ton of cool shops and we went to the art institute. Last Saturday Chris and I went to the Planetarium to see this TimeSpace movie and later on in the day I FINALLY got to see Black Label Society. It was amazing (minus the tall people in front of me blocking my view). An added bonus was that Zakk actually played keyboards for the slower songs which I did not know he did for shows. So cool. My ears were ringing for days though...I really need to invest in a pair of earplugs.
And oh yea....Dane Cook sold out in like 20 minutes or something. Needless to say I didn't get tickets. boooo. Shame on you mr. cook for being so popular.
| ok that does it... i suck at this weblog thing. i'm more obsessed with myspace. anyway not too much has happened the past couple months anyway. just lots o fishin and workin. i have caught 3 bass so far (12 inchers). yesterday i found a new job prospect (in town...boo) assisting a photographer for special events and possibly doing some flash and website stuff. so i'm pretty excited about that and perhaps i can kick one of my other jobs (cough imagemaker) to the curb. it's pays awesome so i hope i can raise money to move.
i've been making my halloween costume during this month and i'm pretty pleased with myself for actually going through with the whole sewing thing. I am going to be a gypsy and it took me like 2 weeks to sew a whole corset top and i just have a simple skirt to make which should only take a couple hours. i did have flash backs of the old 4-H days, but this time it was different cause i was making something i actually wanted to make.
I can't wait till novemeber! Dane Cook is coming to Braden on the 8th and on the 12th i'm going to FINALLY see Zakk Wylde rock it out on stage. i'm going to like novemeber.

| so yeah i've taken up the hobby of fishing. for alot of people who know me and know that i'm a vegetarian might think that is really odd. I dunno i figure for one I always throw them back in and 9 times out of ten (don't know where i got that figure) I can successfully release them without having to kill them. I still feel bad for the 10% that swallowed the hook but that has only happend to me once. i guess the main reason why i do it is so that i have a reason to be out by the lake and by nature. i think humans need to be aware and out amongst nature. we are so consumed with manmade objects that we never stop to appreciate what's not. but i do enjoy the thrill of seeing my bobber pop underneath the water! hehe nonetheless I still feel a little guilty about my fishing excursions but i think it's time better spent than sitting at home.
Chris and I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday and we were not dissapointed. It was no original though. The only thing that I didn't like was the oompaloompas. I miss the old orange ones and didn't care for the middle aged indian dude. And I HATED the songs that the oompaloompas sang and danced to. They were awful. I missed the old cheesy songs like "oompaloompa doopitydoo" and missed the old boat ride riddle/scene with gene wilder. But overall I still loved the movie and thought that johnny depp did an excellent job. I still think marilyn manson should have gotten the role though hehe. but i guess if he got it then it might not have been a children's movie. chris thinks that gene wilder should have made a cameo appearance. that would have been cool. now i think chris and i are going to see war of the worlds soon.
so i've been reading the My Teacher Is An Alien series. Yes i know...it's a teen/children's series, but chris told me to read them cause he loved reading them as a kid. So I just finished the 3rd book "My teacher glows in the dark" and am about to start the 4th and final book "My teacher flunked the planet". I have to say that this is a fun and exciting story. And since it's a kids book you can get through it in and hour or two (or in my case 3 or 4....I read slow.) So if you are looking for a super easy read yet very mind stimulating and like adventure/sci fi then read this series.
